Welcome to OASFAA 2024-2025!

Hello,

My name is Dr. Alex Jordan and I am elated to serve as your OASFAA President for the 2024-25 year.

I have been in the higher education field, specifically financial aid, for over 10 years where I
have held a variety of positions including financial aid counselor, assistant director of
compliance and now the Executive Director at Ashland University. I attended the University of
South Carolina where I earned my master’s as well as my PhD.

Throughout my involvement in the association, I have made great friendships and have seen
what an influential and beneficial association OASAA truly is. I view OASFAA as a big tent
association where anyone and everyone is welcome where all opinions are heard and valued. An
association where we value history, but also recognize the importance of changing with the times
and modernizing to serve not only the needs of our membership, but the needs of the community
and especially our students. As we collectively look towards 2024-25, we have to not only look at
where we want to go, but where we’ve been. We are a strong, financially sound, and thriving
association that will continue to work towards achieving our core missing of ensuring access to
higher education through the promotion of financial aid awareness.

We have another busy year ahead of us. From keeping up with the daily electronic
announcements from the Department of Education to filtering through the mess of ISIR data,
2024-25 is gearing up to be even busier than last year. We also have a full plate here at OASFAA
including a rebranding with a new logo, a new website, 2 new workshops for our members, and
much more.

I look forward to serving as your president and leading this association of dedicated and
committed individuals. I hope to continue the success, tradition, and work of my predecessors,
but also tackling the new and exciting projects that will benefit the association. I hope you all
will join me as we continue to move OASFAA forward and make 2024-25 the best year yet.
